Guests
What each guest status means, how a guest enters and leaves it, and what changes while they're in it.
Set by Reserve with advance. The guest exists and their bed is held, but they haven't moved in — there's no move-in date yet, just an advance paid. Reserved beds are excluded from your vacant count but don't count as occupied either. Ends when you click Mark as moved in (→ Active) or Cancel reservation (removes the guest and frees the bed).
The normal day-to-day state: onboarded (or moved in from Reserved) and currently occupying their bed/room. Most actions — Edit, Reset passcode, Move to another bed, Move out — are available. Rent is tracked normally on the Rent Matrix.
Set either by you clicking Move out on an active guest and entering a future date, or by the guest requesting their own move-out from the guest portal (which you then review under Operations → Vacancy). While in this status, the guest's profile shows the scheduled move-out date, and rent is re-prorated against it. To change the date, click Edit move-out date. If a guest's self-requested move-out is rejected from Operations → Vacancy, they revert to Active automatically.
Reached once the move-out date arrives (or is set to today/a past date), or by clicking Complete move-out on an approved request in Operations → Vacancy. Their bed is released and becomes vacant. A moved-out guest's profile becomes mostly read-only — there's no further Move/Move out/Cancel button.
The number of days' notice guests are expected to give is set once per property: Property → Rules tab → Notice period (days). This only governs the guest's own self-service move-out request (it flags a shorter request, but doesn't block it) — it doesn't limit you when you set a move-out date directly from the guest's profile.
